After retiring from Linfield College in 1978, I decided to take on the readership of the local newspaper, The News Register, as my students. Instruction was to be through a biweekly column,
Words on the Weather. Topics?

Whatever came to my mind as examples of the ways weather had affected human affairs, or explanations of how the weather machine works. I've selected some of the best for this website.
